I want to stay in an igloo!

There is a place where you can stay in a glass (or a real) igloo and watch the aurora borealis dance by on a clear night! How dreamy, right? Would you stay there? Or would you be cold, brrrr? It is this called Hotel Kakslauttanen - Igloo Village in Finland. On my to go list from now on. Let winter come!

Magical star trails

I absolutely loooove these photographs. They where made by Flight Engineer at Expedition 31 from Nasa Don Pettit. Here's how he made them: “My star trail images are made by taking a time exposure of about 10 to 15 minutes. However, with modern digital cameras, 30 seconds is about the longest exposure possible, due to electronic detector noise effectively snowing out the image. To achieve the longer exposures I do what many amateur astronomers do. I take multiple 30-second exposures, then ‘stack’ them using imaging software, thus producing the longer exposure." Don't you want to go to space right now, this minute? I know I do!

Bow sneackers

I totally adore these sneackers from the French brand Baskets Tokyo Mi-Mai. Putting them on my wishlist as we speak.
Also available in other colors and prints.
+ They are the perfect excuse for a trip to Paris. And you can't go wrong with Paris as the ladies know.

It's up to you, New York, New York

In November I went to New York with four girlfriends and I just can't discribe what an experience it was for us girls from the little country, Belgium. The first day we just stared the whole time. Here are some pictures I took...

In tiny Belgium we know lemonade but not in the way Americans drink it. Here it's very very sweet (too sweet if you ask me) and sparkling. I actually prefer lemonade in America.

Visit the Empire State Building at night! The view is so beautiful then.

In Belgium me and the others fours girls who were with me in New York all dance. So we decided to take some lessons in The Big Apple. And I can say: Totally new way of dancing for us, but really adictive.

Have some of you ever been to New York City? And what did you think of the city? I definitely want to go back some day! Maybe with the boyfriend next time...

New Year's Eve in London

I went to London for New Year's, with the boyfriend (and yes, I know, he like to make 'funny' faces before a camera). Here are some pola's from the trip.

My New Year's resolutions:
- Staying as hopelessly in love as I am right now
- Graduating as a journalist
- Becoming the best dancer as I possibly can be
- See more of the world
And since I'm rubbish in keeping to my resolutions every year, I'm not going to put up more. But the one's above I'm certainly going to keep!

Do you make New Year's resolutions?

In love with Paris!

First of all, sorry for neglecting the blog a bit, but being in the last years of my journalism studies took it's toll. But I promise to start posting again on a regular base. Really!

Sooooo, I went to Paris for the first time in my life. I know, I should be ashamed of myself as I'm living in Belgium, right beside France and only 3 hours away from Paris. But let's say that I was waiting for a right opportunity or something like that. And that not so defined opportunity came in the form of teh almighty boyfriend, of course! He went to Paris plenty of times and was a bit shocked when I told him I had never been there. And a few weeks later we where on a romantic weekend in Paris. I had the best time and can not wait to back, preferably in the spring or the summer. Or when it snows. Let's say that from now on every reason is a good reason to visit Paris.

And here's the most beautiful picture the boyfriend took...

Have you ever been in Paris?
If so, let me know what I really need to do or see when I'm going a next time...

Busy day

I'm leaving for Andorra tomorrow, which means I'm packing, and I hate packing. I always start doubting about what to pack and in the end I take everything with me, just in case, leaving me with a heavy heavy suitcase. We are going to Andorra for one week and next we will be heading for the south of France for another week, which means we're going by car. Sooooo I baked some yummy yummy muffins for on the road. I wanted to eat them today already, but I kept strong. I also packed my cute new old pink shoes with bows (and a lot of ather pairs of shoes as well!). I think I'm ready now so that's why I'm saying goodbye to you guys for two weeks. Till the next post!

Sun, sea, and my mint green sunglasses

So into vacation right now! I want to swim in the sea, walk around in my bikini all day long and see bright colours everywhere through my mint green sunglasses. For now the only thing I can do is paint my nails in cute colours and pretend that my garden is a beautiful beach. A girl can use her imagination, right? But in three week I will be swimming in the sea in the south of France, so I'm counting down!

Let's fly away with a helium balloon!

In the Pixar movie 'Up' a house can just fly away with some balloons. But what if you really want to see a house go into the sky? As if you send a postcard up in the air, but than... a house. Why not? National Geographic tried to make this come true.

The television programe How hard can it be? on National Geographic tested the movie scene and built and exact replica, five by five meters, of the house from the film. It took 300 balloons filled with helium to lift the house into the sky. The balloons were slidely bigger than the ones used in the film though. But still, woooow!

This experiment broke the record of the most bundled balloons and the house reached a height of three kilometers. Where it landed is not know.

So for all I know it might still be flying through the sky right now...
Don't you just love this story? I know I do!

Rome: day 3

The third day we visited the Galleria Borghese. While we waited to get in, we took some pictures to kill the time...

Afterwards we went to Trastevere, where the heat became to much to bear. So we settled down at a nice terrace, drank a lot and ate some olives.

At night we met some friends for diner.
